Does Amazon's custom AI chip posses a threat to Nvidia

The dawn of Artificial Intelligence(AI) has set off an  arms race of sorts, with largest companies in technology seeking to benefit from the nascent tech. NVIDIA corporation has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of this trend, as its graphics processing units  were the early choices for training AI systems. The ability of GPU's to perform a significant number of complex mathematical calculations simultaneously made them the perfect choice for  AI applications.
